Trojan Volleyball Records Home Sweep

WAKEFIELD – Following a five-set home victory over Laurel-Concord-Coleridge last weekend, the Wakefield Trojan volleyball team was back at home Tuesday evening.

From Wakefield High School, the Trojans hosted a Class D2 opponent being Emerson-Hubbard.

Wakefield recorded back-to-back to wins with a sweep over the Pirates (25-16, 25-9, 25-11). The Trojans improve to 8-12 overall as Emerson-Hubbard is now 3-17.

Junior Devaney Brown paced Wakefield at the net with 10 kills, followed by six from junior Jessica Borg as junior Breanna Chase and senior Emma Pommer both added five kills. Senior Andrea Lopez tallied a team-high nine digs. Chase led the team in set assists with 14 followed by 10 from Borg. Borg also tacked on three blocks and five service aces.

The Wakefield Trojans volleyball team will next host a triangular on Thursday, October 19 with Homer and Winnebago coming to town.
