Wakefield Suffers A Road Sweep To #7 Ponca

PONCA – Going 4-3 since the Wakefield Tournament on September 9, the Wakefield Trojans were looking to put a few consecutive wins together late in the season. Wakefield ran into trouble Tuesday evening in Ponca.

#7 Ponca in Class C2 swept Wakefield (25-10, 25-21, 25-16 *MaxPreps.com) to improve to 19-3 overall while the Trojans fall back to 6-12.

Junior Jessica Borg posted a triple-double with 12 kills, 11 digs and 10 set assists to pace Wakefield at the net. Junior Devaney Brown also posted a double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs. Junior Jamie Dolph led the team in digs with 18 as junior Breanna Chase tacked on a team-high 17 set assists.

Wakefield will next host Laurel-Concord-Coleridge on Saturday, October 7.
