SIOUX FALLS, SD – Following the recent causes from Hurricane Maria, the Wayne State College men’s basketball team will now play over the Thanksgiving weekend in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
As the Wildcat men are scheduled to open with an exhibition contest this weekend, it was announced last week the team will no longer be traveling to Puerto Rico as three other teams were looking to also pick up a few games.
Wayne State College will be one of those four teams taking part in the two-day NCAA Division II Sanford Pentagon Men’s Basketball Showcase over the Thanksgiving weekend. WSC will face Wright State in Dayton, Ohio on Friday, November 3 at 6 p.m. during an exhibition contest with their regular season getting underway next Friday, November 10 at Nebraska-Kearney at 7 p.m.
Over the Thanksgiving weekend, WSC will face New York Institute of Technology at 10:30 a.m. followed by Northern State vs. Missouri Southern at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 25. Then on Sunday, November 26, Northern State will face New York Inst. at 5:30 p.m. while the ‘Cats will battle Missouri Southern at 7:30 p.m.
Other teams included in the showcase are South Dakota, Northern Colorado, Youngstown State and Southern Miss a part of the three-day tournament as a whole on Friday, November 24 – Sunday, November 26.
