Wemhoff’s Double-Double Earns Her Player of the Game Honors

HUMPHREY – After a slow first quarter, Logan Wemhoff dominated the final three quarters on the inside in Humphrey St. Francis’ 57-43 win over Riverside Thursday.

Wemhoff scored 16 points and pulled down 15 rebounds – all in the final three quarters – to help the Flyers pull away. Wemhoff says increasing her rebounding output has been a goal from the start.

“[It’s] reading the ball and reading where the players are,” Wemhoff said. “I just get in front of them and get in position.”

St. Francis Coach Bryan Reichmuth said Wemhoff’s rebounding was key, as was the Flyer team defense, which turned Riverside over time and time again.

“We can score a lot of points but it starts on the defensive end,” Reichmuth said. “We work hard at that.”

The 3-0 Flyers next face Heartland Lutheran on the road Friday.
