WEST POINT – For the second time this season, the Wayne High softball team found themselves competing in a road triangular.
WHS traveled to West Point to face host team, West Point-Beemer and Schuyler.
In the opening match with Schuyler, the Blue Devils won 16-1 in three innings while defeating the Cadets in the final game, 8-0 In five innings. Wayne High has now won nine straight to improve to 16-2 on the season.
West Point-Beemer defeated Schuler in the middle match, 12-0. With the split, the Cadets are now 9-9 while Schuyler falls to 0-13.
During the win over the Warriors, WHS erupted for a 13-run first inning. The Blue Devils added another three runs in the second while giving up one run in the third.
Kennedy Maly recorded one hit, being a homerun and drove in four RBI while Kayla Fleming doubled during one of her two hits to account for another three RBI. Annie Kniesche singled twice and drove in a pair of runs as Tori Kniesche added two singles and a RBI.
Tori Kniesche picked up the win in two innings striking out four batters and walking two. Fleming pitched an inning allowing one run while walking three batters.

From the shutout win over West Point-Beemer, the Blue Devils scored two runs in the opening inning while adding another six in the third.
This time, Sidney Biggerstaff recorded a homerun accounting for three RBI. Tori Kniesche added two singles and three RBI while Jenna Trenhaile and Maysn Dorey each singled twice. Maly tacked on a double.
Tori Kniesche picked up the complete game, no-hitter shutout win in five innings. She struck out 13 batters and walked one.

Wayne High is back in action with their third and final triangular of the season on Tuesday, September 12. WHS will travel to Albion to face Boone Central/Newman Grove and Pierce.
