WEST POINT – With Wayne High volleyball dropping four of their last five matches, a road victory would get them back on track as they travelled to West Point Tuesday evening.
Wayne High competed with the Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays. The Blue Devils swept GACC (25-14, 25-19, 25-6) to improve to 4-5 on the season while the Bluejays fall back to 3-5.
Senior Kylie Hammer paced the Blue Devils at the net with nine kills and nine digs, followed by junior Ashton Boyer with eight while freshman Lauren Picked added another seven. Pick also recorded four service aces and a team-high three blocks. Sophomore Allyson Avery tallied 20 set assists while sophomore Korrina Niemann added nine digs.
Wayne High will next compete in the Ord Invite this Saturday, September 16. WHS will face O’Neill and Ord following the opening match at 10 a.m. between Ord and O’Neill in pool A. Grand Island Central Catholic, Ansley-Litchfield and Lutheran High Northeast are the pool B teams.
