Wildcat Softball Back On Road For Six Games In Three Days

ST. JOSEPH, MO – After just returning from the National Training Center Spring Games, the Wayne State College softball team is back on the road for a six-game weekend series.

The ‘Cats will compete in the Missouri Western Tournament in St. Joseph, Missouri Friday, March 17 – Sunday, March 19. This will be the final non-conference road series for WSC.

Wayne State is 4-14 on the season, but winners of two straight in Florida. The Wildcats have five losses by one run each.

WSC will compete with Central Missouri at 10 a.m. and Northwest Missouri State at 4 p.m. today, Missouri Southern at Noon and Central Oklahoma at 4 p.m. Saturday and Missouri Western at 11 a.m. and Fort Hays State University at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The home opener for Wayne State College is scheduled to be the team’s final non-conference game of the season. State rival, Nebraska-Kearney will be at the Pete Chapman Softball Complex, now Tuesday, March 21 due to the incoming weather.

WSC will then be back on the road to open league play with Augustana University (3/28), Concordia-St. Paul (4/1) and Minnesota State-Mankato (4/2). The first home NSIC double header for the Wildcat softball team will be Tuesday, April 4 when Winona State is in town at 1/3 p.m.
