Wildcat Volleyball Wins Third Straight Match After Dropping Two Consecutive Last Weekend

CROOKSTON, MN – #22 Wayne State College finished off a three-match week with a pair of sweeps on the road this weekend.

The Wildcat volleyball team won at Minnesota Crookston (25-15, 25-11, 25-17) Friday afternoon. The ‘Cats improve to 18-10 (11-7 NSIC) while the Golden Eagles fall to 7-19 (4-14 NSIC).

Senior Erin Gross paced WSC at the net with 10 kills while redshirt freshman Jaci Brahmer and sophomore Katie Stephens both recorded eight kills. Junior Megan Gebhardt tallied 30 set assists as sophomore Haley Kauth led the team in digs with 14 and senior Bree Ackermann tacked on another 10.

WSC outhit UMC, .369 to .108 while winning the service ace battle (4-3) and block department (7-2).

Wayne State College will close out their regular season hosting St. Cloud State (6 p.m.) and Minnesota Duluth (4 p.m.) on Friday, November 10 and Saturday, November 11.
