Norfolk Family Medicine Closing After 32 Years
NORFOLK - After over three decades of service, one local private practice medical office is closing their doors at the end of the month. Norfolk Family Medicine has served patients for 32 years, and will serve their last patient on May 31st. Dr. Tim Davy, President and Founder of Norfolk Family Medicine, said that the decision to close the practice didn't come easily.
Dr. Davy: "It was a very difficult decision. We have been agonizing for the last probably two or three years about the decreasing margins and the greater and greater difficulty in continuing to practice the way we want to practice.
Dr. Davy said that a number of factors including increasing number of urgent care facilities, medical practices opening up in surrounding communities, as well as the changing health care climate led to the decision. Dr. Davy plans to continue to serve patients through Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, while Dr. Wicker will no longer practice in Norfolk.
The practice will be holding an open house the evening of Thursday, May 8th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm to say goodbye to patients.
