2014 Madison County Fair Draws Large Crowds
MADISON - Officials with the Madison County Ag Society are celebrating another successful Madison County Fair. The fair wrapped up Sunday with concerts by country stars Josh Turner and Larry Gatlin. Fair officials say attendance was up as opposed to 2013. Ag Society officials say early estimates were that anywhere from 18,000 to 20,000 more people came to the fair this year as opposed to last. Fair committee member Randy Ritterbush says the increased attendance gave the committee something to think about for future fairs.
RITTERBUSH: "Wednesday morning we realized that already after our Tuesday night crowd, which was unusually large for Tuesday, that we don't have enough bathrooms."
Ritterbush says the committee will meet this week to already begin planning the 2015 fair. Ritterbush says they already have a "wish list" of potential performers put together.
