Drivers Named in Thursday Morning Crash on Highway 81
MADISON - Two people have been injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 81 south of Norfolk Thursday morning. The accident occurred at roughly 9:40am. According to the Nebraska State Patrol, a sedan driven by 63-year-old Douglas Rumsey of Madison was traveling eastbound on 835th road crossing Highway 81 when it was struck by a jeep traveling northbound. The driver of the Jeep was identified as 54-year-old Phillip Prorock of Lead, South Dakota. Both were drivers taken to Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, their conditions were unknown as of Thursday afternoon. State patrol says that Mr. Rumsey was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
