Crews Fight Overnight Business Fire East of Pilger
PILGER - Crews with the Pilger Volunteer Fire Department were busy battling a business fire east of Pilger last night. Crews were called to the fire at about 11:00pm Monday night at the Bodwell Construction location on Highway 15. Jeremy Goeken with the Pilger Fire Department said that when crews arrived, a 30'x 60' machine shop holding multiple vehicles and pierces of equipment was fully engulfed..
Goeken: "Crews remained on scene for approximately five-hours, they left around 5:00am and they were called back at about 6:30am for a couple of flare ups that was noticed by the fire marshal who was on scene investigating the cause."
Pilger Fire Crews were assisted in fighting the fire with crews from Stanton, Wisner, Howells, Clarkson, and West Point. The building is being considered a total loss, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
