Norfolk Public Schools Names Luhr as High School Principal
NORFOLK - Officials with Norfolk Public Schools say the man who has been the interim principal at Norfolk Senior High for nearly four months has been selected to fill that position permanently. Norfolk Superintendent Dr. Jami Jo Thompson announced the selection of Jake Luhr in a statement on Friday night.
Luhr has been an administrator with NPS since 2008, serving as Assistant Principal at the Jr. High and the Senior High before his time as interim Principal at Norfolk Senior High. Luhr took over the interim post in October following the resignation of James Lake, who stepped down due to philosophical differences with NPS.
Thompson says they will begin the process of selecting someone to fill Luhr's previous position as Assistant Senior High Principal once the school board officially approves Luhr's new contract. The school board is slated to meet Monday night.
