Council Denies Rezone for Residential Development on West Koenigstein Ave.
NORFOLK - A proposed residential development located at 32nd Street and Koenigstein Ave. was before the Norfolk City Council Monday night.
Mejstrik Properties sought to have a strip of land on Koenigstein Ave rezoned to residential to build duplexes and triplexes. Many of the area business and land owners have spoken out against the planned development over the past months, including Todd Pospisil, owner of the building directly to the south of the proposed development.
Pospisil: "To me it looks definitely there's a very very good buffer line with Koenigstein Avenue, north of there being residential south of there being commercial. That looks pretty evident to me from the map."
The requested changes failed with just one member of the council, Jim Lange, voting in favor. Council member Shane Clausen abstained from the vote.
