Pilger Residents to be Escorted into Town Tuesday Morning
PILGER - The Stanton County Sheriff's office says that no one is allowed into or out of Pilger for the remainder of Monday night. Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger said that the town has been locked down, and those who attempt to enter the community could be subject to arrest.
Sheriff Unger said that sheriff's officials will be allowing residents of Pilger only into town Tuesday morning between 7:00am and 7:30am. Unger said that if you are unable to make if Tuesday morning between 7:00am and 7:30am., you will be allowed to bring one representative only. Residents are asked to meet at the junction of Highway 275 and Highway 15 to be escorted into town to go to their residences and collect whatever they can.
Unger reiterated that volunteers are not wanted at this time, and crews will be asking for volunteer efforts by Tuesday afternoon at the absolute earliest, pending law enforcement approval.
