First New Home Brought to Pilger
PILGER (KTIV) - After weeks of helping everyone else in the town of Pilger begin the rebuilding process, Village Clerk Kim Neiman and her husband now get to start the process of rebuilding their own. The Neimans were among the many who lost their homes in the June 16 tornado, and Thursday Ray Stahla of Stahla Homes in Norfolk brought the Neimans their new home just twelve days after they bought it. Stahla said he thought it was important for Neiman to get the first new home in Pilger.
Stahla: "She's pretty much the lifeline for Pilger at this point in time, so for us to get her back into town and help the rebuilding process, to me, is a real high priority."
Neiman says the fact that hers is one of many homes being rebuilt in Pilger is a sign that the community was too strong to die.
Neiman: "I love this town. I love the people. I love the outpouring that everybody has given to us."
Kim is confident that the will to rebuild lies within all those who once called Pilger home.
