City of Laurel Breaks Ground on New Family Medicine Facility
LAUREL- Construction of a larger modern medical clinic has begun in one northeast Nebraska town.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Laurel Family Medicine facility was held with community leaders and members Thursday afternoon.
The new 3500 square foot clinic is being funded through a partnership with Faith Regional Health Services and a private investor, and was approved by the Laurel City Council at their April meeting.
Faith Regional Health Services Chief Operating Officer Patrick Roche says the current Laurel Family Medicine building has been outdated for several years.
Roche: "With this new facility, it will allow us to maintain all the services that are here in Laurel now and hopefully expand a few more in the future."
The new clinic will have a bigger waiting room, three extra exam rooms, an x ray room, and more, with construction expected to be finished by this October.
Laurel Family Medicine joined clinics in Wisner, Wayne, and Wakefield as the newest affiliates apart of the Faith Regional Physician Services earlier this month.
