Mass of Christian Burial for Kathy Pinkelman, age 68, of Bloomfield, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2017, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Bloomfield. Reverend Tim Podraza will be Celebrant, with burial in Bloomfield City Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church, with a 7:00 p.m. Wake Service.
Brockhaus Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
Kathy died Friday, September 8, 2017, at her residence.
Kathy Pinkelman, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Schroeder was born January 16, 1949, in Fordyce, Nebraska. She graduated from Crofton High School in 1967. Kathy married Keith Pinkelman on July 19, 1969, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Menominee, NE. They moved to their family farm in Bloomfield, Nebraska in 1970. There they milked cows for 29 years, farmed and raised a family. Five children were born to them: Twins, Debbie and Denise, Chad, Todd, and Troy.
Kathy was an active member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Bloomfield. Her favorite pastimes included painting, cleaning, singing, and spending time with family. She loved cheering on the Steelers, Yankees, and Huskers. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she found great joy in watching them grow.
Kathy passed away peacefully on Friday, September 8, 2017, at home surrounded by family following a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Keith (Keeter) Pinkelman; her children, Debbie (Jeff) Abbenhaus of Bloomfield, NE, Denise (Joe) Heese of Earling, IA, Chad (Karen) Pinkelman of Strombsburg, NE, Todd (Tiffany) Pinkelman of Norfolk, NE, and Troy (Lauren) Pinkelman of Bloomfield, NE; sixteen grandchildren, Kristen and Cody Allen, Kasi and Madison Abbenhaus, Jordan, Brett, and Taylor Heese, Bailey, Alex, Preston, and Ellasyn Pinkelman, Ty and Tate Pinkelman, and Cole, Reed, and Drew Pinkelman; siblings, Marjorie Kathol of Hartington, NE, Henrietta Sudbeck of Bow Valley, NE, James (Renae) Schroeder of Yankton, SD, Bernadette (Ed) Lange of Hartington, NE, Alice Klug of St. Helena, NE, Leander (Cheryl) Schroeder of St. Helena, NE, Dorothy (Arlynn) Schmidt of Elk Point, SD, Daniel (Joan) Schroeder of Crofton, NE, Allen (Cindy) Schroeder of Fordyce, NE, David (Sally) Schroeder of Irene, SD, Sandy Schmidt of Dakota City, NE, Lorraine Pinkelman of Coleridge, NE, Brice (Lori) Pinkelman of Wynot, NE, and Brian Pinkelman of Canistota, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Elizabeth; brothers, Joseph and Charles Schroeder; brothers-in-law, Urban Kathol, Jerry Klug, Bud Sudbeck, Keevin Pinkelman, Vernon Schmidt, and other loved ones.
