GRAND ISLAND, Neb.- Eye-sores across Grand Island are looking better, according to Grand Island City Hall.
In the past two months the city’s Problem Resolution Team (PRT) has reduced the number of blighted properties in town.
An abandoned home at 211 N. Eddy Street was demolished and the land has been cleared.
596 Evergreen Lane was cleared of debris.
Two homes, 207 E. Calle and 220 S. Vine, were reported to the team last year and will be demolished soon.
Two bank-foreclosed properties have been bought and are being rehabbed. They are located at 1418 N. Broadwell Street and 1320 N. Oak Street.
The PRT was started in 1998 to address recurring problems with blighted properties.
