Eight Dead, Dozen Hurt in NYC Truck Attack

NEW YORK CITY – At least eight people are dead and a dozen injured following what authorities are calling a cowardly terrorist attack in New York City.

The attack was launched when a Home Depot rental truck roared through a popular bike lane that stretches from West Houston to Chambers Street in the Tribeca section of lower Manhattan.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the Halloween attack is not believed to be part of a larger plot.

The attacker, who was apparently shot in the stomach by authorities, is in the hospital. His identity has not been released.
