OMAHA, Nebraska. – After a narrow 2nd place finish in the primary, City Council candidate Jim Rogers is getting a boost from a career politician.

Garry Gernandt, who is retiring after 16 years on the council, endorsed Rogers during a news conference in South Omaha this morning.

Rogers came up  45 votes short of  Vinny Palermo who received 1,888 votes.

Gernandt, Rogers and Palermo are all Demcrats.

The general election is May 9th.
