UPDATE: Victims in Fiery I-80 Crash Identified

Omaha, NE—The victims in a fiery and deadly crash on I-80 in Omaha this week have been identified.

32-year-old Silvano Torres was killed when, according to police, a speeding 2001 Dodge Ram work van “vaulted over a metal guardrail” hitting a concrete bridge support, flipping over and catching fire. Police say Torres, who was not wearing a seat belt, was riding in the rear cargo area.

We are told the driver, 38-year-old Nemias Garcia-Velasco, who suffered burns to his lower legs is hospitalized at Nebraska Medicine.

16-year-old Jesus Gonzalez, who was treated and released from the hospital shortly after the crash, was sitting in the front passenger seat, according to police.
