OMAHA, Nebraska. -With only 22 days until the general election, both incumbent Republican Jean Stothert and Democrat Heath Mello are ramping up the noise.
Today the two fought over roads.
“Its is part of the infrastructure of the city,” says Omahan Mayra-Jo Bates. “If people tore up their own road, then yes, they will have to pay for it, but this is brought on by overuse and heavy equipment.”
Stothert says she already has a fix-up plan that doesn’t include raising property taxes.
Mello says the mayor’s plans are too late.
