Omaha, Nebraska. – One man has been arrested following a standoff with police in south Omaha late Thursday evening.

Police arrested  37-year old  Eric Stratman after he agreed to turn himself in to police shortly after midnight Friday near 11th and Hickory Streets. Startman had told officers he was armed with a knife inside a residence and holding a female inside the home.

Stratman was involved in a six hour standoff with police that caused several street blocks to be closed down during the confrontation and faces several charges including false imprisonment, sexual assault and assault by strangulation.
